Paintball is a sport in which players eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with dye-filled, breakable, gelatin paintballs usually shot from a compressed air-powered “paintball marker”. The paintballs themselves are biodegradable and Eco-friendly.
Paintball draws a wide array of people, its estimated over 5.4 million people played the game in the United States in 2007, with over 1.5 million playing at least 15 times that year. Insurance statistics show that paintball is one of the safest sports, with fewer injuries per exposure than sports like football, soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, and bowling.
A game of paintball usually involves two opposing teams seeking to eliminate all of the other team’s players or to complete some other objective, such as retrieving a flag, eliminating a specific player, or other paintball variations. Depending on the style of paintball played.

When you arrive at our field the first thing to do is check in. You are required to complete our waiver form either online or in person. Any player under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian co-sign the waiver form. Next, we will talk about what you will need for you or your group, one of our rental packages or if you have your own gear, and how much paint you will need. We are a field paint-only facility so all ammo must be purchased at Carolina Extreme. All players will be given a safety orientation briefing before heading out to the staging area. Our referees will chronograph all markers to ensure they are within the correct range. Field velocity is under 300 feet per second. The field referees then will put you on a team and give you any special instructions you will need for that game. While you are on the field the refs will start / stop games and assist players. They also enforce our safety rules on the field and in the staging areas. After the game, the staff will round everyone up and get the players back on the field for the next game. We are open to all players who come out to the field during regular hours, this is called a "walk on day" and all players will play together as a group divided into teams.
